    Choosing a Financial Advisor

    • Does the Advisor have credentials that are recognizable and respected by professional standards; like CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) or AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary)?
    • Does the advisor have a broad range of knowledge and experience in areas of financial management; i.e. cash flow analysis, investments, insurance, taxes, retirement, and estate planning?
    • Do they provide written analysis of these planning issues?
    • Does the advisor offer performance statements from third party vendors linked directly to the investment custodian?
    • Does the advisor monitor and affect changes to the portfolios as conditions change, especially during periods of market decline? What is the basis of that analysis; i.e. fundamental or technical? Is there a formal “process” for buying and selling securities?
    • Can the advisor offer estate planning solutions to protect loved ones or a favorite charity while mitigating the risks of asset transfer?
